For the love of money $$$

So tonight I was reading my word and started reading in Ecclesiastes 5:8 and on, and it was talking about how riches are meaningless. This made me think of the fact that our world today seems to always push and advertise that money is everything, and to the world, money equals happiness. Although we know that nothing in this world can satisfy you as much as God can.

"Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless. As good increase, so do those who consume them. And what benefit are they to the owner except to feast his eyes on them? The sleep of a laborer is sweet, whether he eats little or much, but the abundance of a rich man permits him no sleep."
-Ecclesiastes 5:10-12

I guess you can say that this has and is challenging me a lot, we live in a world where everyone is materialistic and always has to have the latest things. From clothes to shoes, to electronics to cars, the list goes on. And we have become so consumed in always wanting and spending money. Reading these verses made me think, it basically says that those who are in love with money will never have enough. Because you are so into wealth, you never will have enough to satisfy your love for it. No amount will ever please your liking, no matter how much you end up having or making, you will always feel as if you need more. You set yourself in a vicious cycle where you always want more and more, to the point where nothing can quench your desires.
Now I'm not saying that the Lord doesn't bless people with wealth and trust them with a certain amounts of money, but I'm saying that when money is the thing you long for most...that's the tragedy.

The things of this world will soon fade away, things don't last forever!
"The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever."
-1 John 2:17
Money is a piece of paper with green stuff on it, I'm pretty sure it can easily fade and be destroyed just like everything else. So don't make having it or stuff in general such a big deal! You'll live without owning a Louis Vuitton purse, you'll make it! I promise!!! :D

Getting nice stuff and having extra money to spend is not the issue, enjoying shopping and buying stuff isn't it either, but when possessing it becomes an obsession creates problems!

"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."
-1 Timothy 6:10

So I just wanted to challenge you, don't be like the world! Don't be all caught up in thinking you NEED the lastest things, and having the mindset that we need to be materialistic.
