in hopes that maybe I can encourage someone.
[I will keep this first post, short and sweet :)]
In the world we live in today, the media and entertainment industry is always trying to dictate to the world how we should live. They place an unrealistic picture of what perfection is. They view beauty and perfection as being skinny or slim, having a nice body overall, luscious hair, straight white teeth, flawless skin, and edited or altered features. Although in reality no one fits in the category, they spit out an unpractical look and expect the world to look just like that or at least try to. Well I'm here to tell you that trying to be perfect and look perfect grows old. We cannot let the world's definition of beauty define our personal definition of it. Beauty come from within, and no matter how many times we may say that, it needs to become our reality.
God created each and everyone of us for a reason, we are greatly and wonderfully made. In God's eyes we are the most gorgeous, beautiful, handsome people! So why cant we look at ourselves that way? Be confident in who you are and what you look like, because when it's all said and done, we weren't made to please others! Let your beauty come from within, don't place yourself in a nonsensical picture of what it is, because you will never fit. You were not made to!

ReplyDeleteFirst off, I am so proud of you for starting a blog. I've wanted to, but just haven't made the time for it, and you have. If you keep writing in the spirit like this you are truly going to have an impact on someone in one way or another. :) You already have on me.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, this post has come as a perfect reminder to me...Today while at the grocery store I bothered to pic up one of those over-paid-attention-to women's magazines, full of retouched photos of women and an overall false sense of reality. I don't really think it's easily possible to truthfully feel good about yourself while reading one of those because all they tell you how to do is make yourself more beautiful outwardly which only ends up becoming a vicious cycle of 'editing' yourself to measure up to "thee ideal". One of the articles was even entitled: "The Haircut That Will Change Your Life"...umm haha. Your post is just a great reminder that that's not what beauty is all about,
"Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight."

I look forward to following this blog because i know it's like a newly planted garden....once it begins to take root and grow, GREAT tasting fruit is going to come forth.
