Sowing Generously

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" -2 Corinthians 9:6-7

So I remember sometime towards the end of 2010, I was at the Campus Awakening Conference and Jake Hamilton spoke a quick 5 minute thought on giving. As I listened in, I immediately felt convicted, not because I wasn't giving at all...but because I could give so much more. He then went on to say that he was doing this thing where he gave something away everyday, this struck me. How easy is that? Yet, we don't do it! Whether it's buying a homeless person lunch, treating your friend to coffee, or smiling at a random stranger and telling them that Jesus Loves them. We are capable of giving so much, but the culture around us has created this stingy (scarcity) mentality where we think we have to hold on tight to everything that we own. We need to break this mold of being so selfish and self-centered and start giving back!
Coming into this new year I had a goal in mind, that I wanted to sponsor a child from Africa :) I was very hesitant at first, because 1 I'm a college student, 2 because I don't have a job..meaning that I don't have any income coming in. But I felt the Lord breathe on this thought and I knew inside of me that it was something I should/could do! Just think, with a mere $35 a month I can help to provide a child with safe drinking water, food, health-care, and an education! I guess I said all this to say, GIVE!! What we sow out into the world, we will reap. Just like the verse ^^ up there talks about...Let's sow generously...bless somebody with your words and actions!!

"Lovely"

Today was just like any other day, I woke up...headed to my class and came home. On my drive back I remembered a song I came across randomly the other day. My friends and I went to Oregon this past weekend and we decided to play Pandora through my iPhone on the way back. With that being said, this one very "lovely" song came on. What a coincidence, the song was called "Lovely" by Sara Haze.
As I began to listen to the words, I was intrigued. All I can remember was a huge smile going from ear to ear, because the song speaks the truth. I have no idea where Sara Haze stands in her relationship with God, but I know that the Lord can use people to speak a strong message.

Within her song she says,
"Shouldn't have to think
Who am I suppose to be today
And what give you the right
To tell me who I should be
Who gave you that right

Cause I, I feel lovely
Just the way that I am
Yes I feel lovely
The way that I am"

This began to make me think how true that really is. The lyrics state it very clearly, you SHOULD NOT have to think who you are supposed to be, but instead you should just be yourself. No one has the right to dictate that to you, we need to remember not to let the standards and words of others effect the way that we are. Because when it's all said and done, You ARE LOVELY JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!!!

Remember that you are lovely, beautiful, and perfect, Just the way you are!
"All beautiful you are, my darling; there is no flaw in you." -Song of Solomon 4:7

I'm Back!

So I know that I relocated to Tumblr....but I noticed that some of you weren't able to relocate with me :/ haha that could be because it's a little more complicated to follow and that it requires you to have an account. So blogspot might be the permanent place for me! :) But feel free to check in with both, I am going to use Tumblr to post cool pictures and random quotes!

Anyways, life's been very busy lately. My days consist of school..online school..and more school. I am currently taking 12 units, 6 of them being online classes. Very unfortunate, but I need to get 12 more units, because I am looking to transfer this coming fall to either Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, CA or Bethany University in Scotts Valley, CA (pretty much Santa Cruz). So I'm just in that waiting period where I am seeking God for guidance. A good family friend told me the other day, "If you can't sense the Lord's leading, go where the Lord is leaning." With that being said, I'm still waiting it out. Not really sure where I am going, I just know that I dont want to be somewhere that isn't within the Lord's will for my life. So if you all could keep me in your prayers, that would be great :)

Anybody else making any big decisions soon? Or is it just me?!!! hahaha

Hope everyone is having a great week so far, check back in soon for another post :) Thanks for your love & support!
